Story – I still remember it like it was yesterday, even though it was almost four years ago. The day she came home. I had been wanting a dog for a while, and after thorough research I decided on a Boston terrier. It’s not easy finding a Boston terrier in Korea, but I was persistent. For weeks I would wake up every morning to check the Internet, looking for Bostons for sale. I would call the place, and they would say ‘Sorry, we just got rid of those yesterday.’ And then it happened, on a hot June afternoon. I found three lovely young pups on an Internet site, called up the shop, and was out the door in seconds flat. The shop was in Seoul, and I was living in Yong-in, a suburb of Seoul, about an hour away from door to door. I knew I was in a race against time, and I ran down to the bus stop. My only thought on that long bus ride was ‘please still be there, please still be there.’ About an hour later, I got to the shop, sweating up a storm. I saw the shopkeeper, and he pointed me in the right direction. I went over to the cage. There was only one pup left. She looked up at me with those big eyes, and that was it. She was perfect, and she was mine.
